Murder in the Afternoon Book Club

Kids Book Club with Austin Allies
Building empathy in young readers, one book at a time! This book club is open to all kids ages 8-12 and meets every third Saturday of the month in the amphitheatre on our second floor. Co-hosted with our friends from local volunteer group, Austin Allies. 

ATX SciRead: Join non-fiction guru Griffin and the Austin Texas Science Writers for a book club devoted to the best of science and nature writing. We’ll revisit the classics and explore cutting-edge titles, from neuroscience to natural history, astrophysics to animal behavior. ATXSciRead meets the first Sunday of every month at 4 pm. 

Open Canon Book Club - online with author Wiley Cash

The goal of the Open Canon Book Club is to introduce readers to voices and portrayals of the American experience they may not have otherwise encountered in their day-to-day lives, their education, or their book club meetings. For each month's selection of the Open Canon Book Club Wiley Cash will post discussion questions here and across his social media accounts, and will also host live book club discussions online and in independent bookstores. The authors of each month's selection will be invited to participate in any and every way that interests them. Cash will also post and share relevant documentaries, essays, websites, and blogs that will enrich the experience of reading and discussing the month's selection.  

KUT Book Club

We meet on the second Monday of each month to discuss a selected title from those listener suggestions that illuminates something about the city and state we call home. The books cross genres, authors and eras but share Austin and Texas roots and themes.

Well Read Black Girl Book Club

Join Raven and Ona the first Tuesday of the month to discuss books by writers of color! The Mission of the Well-Read Black girl Book Club is to support diverse voices and emerging writers of color, one book club meeting at a time. Our literary community is inclusive, we strive to inspire change and foster connections between bookstores, readers, and authors.
